17  | 六月，宁夏塞有警，上复议北征，自称「威武大将军太师镇国公朱寿」巡边，以江彬为威武副将军扈行，令内阁草敕。大学士杨廷和、梁储、蒋冕、毛纪上疏力谏，且云：「万一宗藩中援祖训，指此为言，陛下何以应之？又或以朝无正臣，内有奸邪为名，陛下之左右与臣等何以自解？」不听。廷和遂称疾不出。上御左顺门，召梁储，面趋令草制。储对曰：「他可将顺，此制断不可草。」上大怒，挺剑起曰：「不草制，齿此剑！」储免冠伏地泣谏曰：「臣逆命有罪，愿就死。草制则以臣名君，臣死不敢奉命。」良久，上掷剑去，乃自称之，不复草制，彬亦罢副将军。 |
