何充，汉州德阳人。秘书监耕之孙。通判黎州，摄州事，预为备御计。及宋能之至，建议急于邛崃创大小两关仓及砦屋百间，亲督程役。俄关破，充自刺不死，大军帅呼之语，许以不杀。充曰：「吾三世食赵氏禄，为赵氏死不憾。」帅设帟幄环坐诸将，而虚其宾席，呼充曰：「汝能降，即坐此。」充踞坐地求死，遂罢。它日又呼之，欲辫其发而髡其顶。曰：「可杀不可髡。」又使署招民榜，充曰：「吾监州也，可聚吾民使杀之耶？即一家有死而已，榜必不可署。」大将遗以酒茗羊牛肉，皆却之。自是水饮绝不入口。敌知其不可强，将剐之，大将曰：「此南家好汉也，使之即死。」于是斩其首。
