27  | 越两日，贼复大至，宗元偕玉衡及僚佐分门御之，方驰至东门指挥城守，而西城地雷发，裂数丈，贼蜂拥入，玉衡被戕，城陷。宗元率子世济挥刀巷战，与吉安通判王保庸、庐陵知县杨晓昀等，同时遇害。贼衔宗元深，割宗元父子首，悬东门城楼。计与贼相持者六十五日。其族父陈钰，姻亲周以衡，幕友李鸿钧、朱芬、朱华、杨福鬯、叶廷梁、蒋志澐及家丁王杞、王庆，并兵勇等四十馀人俱殉焉。宗元照道员例赐恤，予谥武烈。 |
