61  | 锺麟，字书春，蒙古正白旗人。光绪二十九年进士，用知县，发湖南，补浏阳。摄永顺，宣统二年，调嘉禾。省城难作，衡永郴桂道通令输款，麟闻大恸。即集士绅谓曰：「麟莅县经岁，无德于民。今国亡城危，请诸君先杀麟以谢百姓。幸县城不罹兵祸，死无所恨！」皆相顾错愕，为好语慰之。九月二十一日，民军围县署，锺麟坐堂皇，屑金自尽。预伏火内室，妻邱氏熸焉。两子及次子妇均遇难。 |
