1  | 王向子直，深父之弟。南丰文集序曰：子直自少已著文数万言，与其兄弟俱名闻天下，可谓魁奇拔出之才，而其文能驰骋上下，伟丽可喜者也。读其书，知其与汉以来名能文者，俱列作者之林，未知其孰先孰后。考其意，不当于理者亦少矣。然子直晚自以为不足，而悔其少作，更欲穷探力取，极圣人之指要，大行则欲发而见之事业，穷居则欲推而托之文章，将与《诗》、《书》之作者并，而文未知其孰先孰后也。然不幸早世，故虽有难得之材，独立之志，而不得及其成就，此吾徒与子直之兄深甫所以深恨也。 |
