刘裕至下邳，以船载辎重，重，直用翻。自帅精锐步归。帅，读曰率。至山阳，闻何无忌败死，虑京邑失守，卷甲兼行，卷，读曰卷。与数十人至淮上，李延寿《南史》作「江上」，当从之，盖裕至山阳则已渡淮也。问行人以朝廷消息。行人曰：「贼尚未至，刘公若还，便无所忧。」裕大喜。将济江，风急，衆咸难之。裕曰：「若天命助国，风当自息；若其不然，覆溺何害！」溺，奴狄翻。卽命登舟，舟移而风止。过江，至京口，衆乃大安。夏四月癸未，裕至建康。以江州覆没，表送章绶，诏不许。绶，音受。

春正月，《考异》曰：《宋·本纪》：「正月癸巳朔，日有食之。」《宋纪》「二月己巳」，《宋略》「二月癸巳」，李延寿《南史》「二月己卯朔」，皆误也。按《长历》，是年正月丁巳、二月丁亥朔，《后魏书·纪》、《志》，是年无日食，今从之。魏改元始光。
