17  | 周顯王聞蘇秦將至，預使人掃除道路，設供帳於郊外，以迎之。秦之老母，扶杖旁觀，嘖嘖驚歎；二弟及妻嫂，側目不敢仰視，俯伏郊迎。蘇秦在車中謂其嫂道：「嫂向不為我炊，今又何恭之過也？」嫂觳觫答道：「見季子位高而金多，不容不敬畏耳。」蘇秦不覺喟然歎道：「世情看冷暖，人而逐高低。吾今日乃知富貴之不可少也。」於是以車載其親屬，同歸故里。起建大宅，聚族而居之。復散千金以贍宗黨。今河南府城內有蘇秦宅遺坵，相傳有人掘之，得金百錠，蓋當時所埋也。 |
