13  | 府官見是沈員外送來的事情，不敢遲誤，飛速出牌拘審。差人下鄉，恰值方蘭歸來不見了凌霄，正在那裏喧嚷。差人向前一把扭住。方蘭不知就裡，猶亂嚷道：「我是方相公，你怎敢拿著我。」差人道：「我是不敢拿你的，卻為著本府太爺請你。」方蘭吃了一驚，竟被差役一直扯到府堂。府尊見了，大喝道：「刁奴才，你拐騙良家女子，逃到這裡，還是掠賣還是奸拐為妻？」方蘭纔曉得是凌霄這件事發作，祇得跪上稟道：「那個凌霄，原是自家的婢女。小人也是簪纓後裔，怎肯做那拐騙之事，望乞太爺電情超豁。」府尊大怒，喝道：「誰許你多講，且待那凌霄說上來。」凌霄便哭哭啼啼，把前後事情細細的訴了一遍。方蘭跪上去再欲辯時，府尊不容開口，便抽簽擲下，喝叫重打四十。又取一面大枷，枷在頭門示眾，即將凌霄并回詞送上沈爺，待他自家發放。紅生聞知，忙至府前，見方蘭道：「方兄請了，兄為何這般模樣？」方蘭哭道：「說也可醜。其年仁兄為了官事之後，家嬸母就把舍妹另許何半虛，比及何家娶去，路上又遇著強盜擄去，如今舍妹還不知下落。此事原是弟與凌霄同送親的。因無面目回家，祇得同著凌霄住在這裏。誰想這個丫頭聽人唆哄，霹空寫著一張狀子，告到太爺，竟說我是拐騙，為此屈受刑責。想我異鄉孤另，沒人搭救的了。」說罷，淚如雨下，甚是可憫。 |
