10  | 李善長之功，不敢望酂侯百一，至以胡惟庸株累，不良於死，則近不情。善長死之明年，而御史解縉、代虞部郎中王國用為稱冤，言：「善長與陛下同心，出萬死以取天下，勳臣第一，生封公，死封王，男尚公主，親戚拜官，人臣之分已極，富貴無所復加。而謂其欲佐胡惟庸，則大謬不然。使善長佐胡惟庸，成不過勳臣第一而已矣，太師、國公、封王封侯而已矣，尚主納妃而已矣．寧復有加于今日且善長豈不知天下之不可倖求，取天下於百戰之艱危也哉而以衰倦之年身蹈之，何也凡為此者，必有深仇急變、大不得已，而後父子之間，或至相挾，以冀脫禍。今善長之子祺，備陛下骨肉之親，無纖芥之嫌，何苦而忍為此也」疏奏，上亦不罪。噫，國用此疏，誠辨矣。善長之罪不在於佐逆，而病在不善自處。漢祖大封功臣之日，蕭何乃三傑中人材，亦只封文終侯，未嘗敢與韓、彭埒也。善長何人，偃然而徑據於中山王之上乎或者福過災生，理固應爾。 |
