笃公刘、Of generous devotion to the people was duke Liu,
于京斯依。When he had found rest on the height,
跄跄济济、With his officers all in dignified order,
俾筵俾几。He caused mats to be spread, with stools upon them;
既登乃依。And they took their places on the mats and leaned on the stools.
乃造其曹、He had sent to the herds,
执豕于牢、And taken a pig from the pen.
酌之用匏。He poured out his spirits into calabashes;
食之饮之、And so he gave them to eat and to drink,
君之宗之。Acknowledged by them as ruler, and honoured.
