趙靈吳女者，號孟姚吳廣之女，趙武靈王之后也。初，武靈王娶韓王女為夫人，生子章，立以為后，章為太子。王嘗夢見處女，鼓瑟而歌，曰：「美人熒熒兮，顏若苕之榮，命兮命兮，逢天時而生，曾莫我嬴嬴。」異日，王飲酒樂，數言所夢，想見其人，吳廣聞之，乃因后而入其女孟姚，甚有色焉，王愛幸之，不能離，數年，生子何。孟姚數微言后有淫意，太子無慈孝之行，王乃廢后與太子，而立孟姚為惠后，以何為王，是為惠文王。武靈王自號主父，封章於代，號安陽君。四年，朝群臣，安陽君來朝，主父從旁觀窺，群臣宗室見章儽然也，反臣於弟，心憐之。是時惠后死久恩衰，乃欲分趙而王章於代，計未決而輟。 |
| | Zhao Lingwu Nu was a woman known as the daughter of Mengyao Wuguang, and she was a descendant of King Wu Ling of Zhao. Initially, King Wu Ling married the daughter of the King of Han as his wife, and they had a son named Zhang. He was appointed as crown prince and made king after his father's death. The king once dreamed of a maiden playing the se and singing, saying: "O fair maiden, radiant with grace, your face is like the glory of the tiao flower. Fate! Fate! Born in an auspicious time, yet no one has ever favored me." On another day, while the king was drinking and enjoying himself, he mentioned his dream several times, longing to see such a person. Wu Guang heard of this and thus sent his daughter Mengyao through the queen into the palace. She was very beautiful, and the king loved her dearly, unable to part from her. After several years, she gave birth to a son named He. Mengyao often subtly hinted that the queen had lewd intentions and that the crown prince lacked filial piety. Hearing this, the king deposed the queen and the crown prince, and enthroned Mengyao as Huiguo Hou (the Queen Dowager Hui), appointing He as king; he became King Huwen. King Wu Ling gave himself the title Zhufu and enfeoffed Zhang in Dai, bestowing on him the title Gongye Jun. In the fourth year, he summoned his ministers for court and Gongye Jun came to pay homage. Zhufu observed from the side. The ministers and members of the royal family saw Zhang's pitiful state, how he had become a subject to his younger brother, and felt sympathy for him. At that time, Queen Dowager Hui had long since died, and her influence had waned. He then wished to divide the state of Zhao and make Zhang king in Dai; however, he did not finalize his plan and abandoned it.

主父游沙丘宮，章以其徒作亂，李兌乃起四邑之兵擊章，章走主父，主父閉之，兌因圍主父宮。既殺章，乃相與謀曰：「以章圍主父，即解兵，吾屬夷矣。」乃遂圍主父，主父欲出不得，又不得食，乃探雀鹄而食之，三月餘，遂餓死沙丘宮。《》曰：「」言不善之從內出也。 |
| | Zhufu was touring the Shaqiu Palace when Zhang, with his followers, instigated a rebellion. Li Dui then raised troops from four commanderies to attack Zhang. Zhang fled to Zhufu, who locked him inside, and thus Li Dui besieged Zhufu's palace. After killing Zhang, they plotted together, saying: "Because we surrounded Zhufu with Zhang, if we now disband our troops, we will surely be executed." They then continued to besiege Zhufu. Zhufu wanted to leave but could not, and he was also denied food. He resorted to catching sparrows and geese to eat. After more than three months, he starved to death in the Shaqiu Palace. The Book of Songs says: "False words are used as replies; bandits and thieves enter within." It speaks of evil arising from within.
