九年，吳使光伐楚，拔居巢、鍾離。吳所以相攻者，初，楚之邊邑胛梁之女與吳邊邑處女蠶，爭界上之桑，二家相攻，吳國不勝，遂更相伐，滅吳之邊邑。吳怒，故伐楚，取二邑而去。
