《禮記》曰：仲春之月，玄鳥至，至之日，以太牢祀高禖。玄鳥，鷰也。鷰以來巢，室于嫁娶之家，媒氏以為候也。 又曰：婚禮者，將合二姓之好，上以事宗廟，而下繼後世矣。故君重之。 又曰：嫁女之家，三夜不息燭，思相離也。娶婦之家，三日不舉樂，思嗣親也。三月而廟見，稱來婦也。擇日而祭於禰，成婦之義也。 又曰：夫婚禮萬世之始也。壹與之齊，終身不改，故夫死不嫁，男女別，然後父子親，父子親，然後義生，義生然後禮作，禮作然後萬物安，婿親御授，親之也。出乎大門，男帥女，女從男，夫婦之義由此始，婦人從人者也。幼從父兄，嫁從夫，夫死從子。 又曰：納女於天子，曰備百姓，於國君，曰備酒漿，於大夫，曰備掃洒。 又曰：哀公問孔子曰：冕而親迎，不已重乎。孔子對曰：合二姓之好，以繼先聖之後，以為天地宗廟社稷之主，君何謂已重乎。崔駰婚禮結言曰：乾坤其德，恆久不已，爰定天綱，夫婦作始，乃降英媛，有淑其儀，姬姜是侔，比則姚媯，載納嘉贄，申結鞶褵。 |
