The Master said, "He who exercises government by means of his virtue may be compared to the north polar star, which keeps its place and all the stars turn towards it."
孟子·離婁下》:天之高也,星之遠也,苟求其故,千歲之日至,可坐而致也。
There is heaven so high; there are the stars so distant. If we have investigated their phenomena, we may, while sitting in our places, go back to the solstice of a thousand years ago.
禮記·月令》:乃命大史守典奉法,司天日月星之行,宿離不貸,毋失經紀,以初為常。
He also orders the Grand recorder to guard the statutes and maintain the laws, and (especially) to observe the motions in the heavens of the sun and moon, and of the zodiacal stars in which the conjunctions of these bodies take place, so that there should be no error as to where they rest and what they pass over; that there should be no failure in the record of all these things, according to the regular practice of early times.

墨子·天志中》:且吾所以知天之愛民之厚者有矣,曰以磨為日月星,以昭道之。
Moreover I know Heaven loves men dearly not without reason. Heaven ordered the sun, the moon, and the stars to enlighten and guide them.
莊子·天道》:則天地固有常矣,日月固有明矣,星固有列矣,禽獸固有群矣,樹木固有立矣。

The planting of the crops, plants, and trees in their seasons, and the transformations of birds, beasts, insects, and moths.
