隋末，李密擊宇文化及，精兵良將多有死傷。王世充在東都，乘其弊而擊之，率步騎二萬，營於洛南。李密軍於偃師北。世充潛遣二百騎，夜伏於邙山，自統其眾，遲明渡水，人奔馬馳，以襲密營。密遽出兵以拒之，陣未成，兩軍已合。伏兵於北山中乘高而下，馳入密營，燒其廬舍。密見營中火發，因而遁走。
