| | It was said: The establishment of ancestral rites has been long-standing. In ancient times, the Sage Emperor had officials for the Five Elements, and Gonggong's son Jurong was the Hou Tu. And after his death, he was enshrined in ancestral rites. Therefore it is said that the She is the master of the land and soil. The "Rites of Zhou" states, "Establishing the position for ancestral rites, with the temple of ancestors on the left and the altars of land and grain on the right." When the Rong chou moved about freely, the people then received the sacrificial meat. The earth's fat constantly stirs; thus, prayers for farming are made. It is also distributed among the common people. During spring and autumn, orders were given for their worship. Therefore, from the state down to the common people, none failed to perform sacrifices. Kulv was the Huyou Xiang of ancient Yangwu. During the Spring and Autumn period, Zi Hua served as a chancellor for the state of Qin. When the Han dynasty rose, Chen Ping began his career as an official in this ancestral rite, and thus assisted Emperor Gaozu, helping to pacify the world. He became Right Chancellor and was enfeoffed as Marquis of Quni. During the Yongping era, Yu Yan served as Taiwei and Siku, was enfeoffed with a marquis title. By the Yinxu period, Yu Yan's nephew's great-grandson Fang, courtesy name Zizhong, became a Shangshu. The imperial relative Liang Ji, taking advantage of his favor, stirred up rebellion; he was the first to devise plans for his execution. The royal court commended his achievements and issued an edict enfeoffing him as Duke of Duting, Taifu, Taichang, Sikong. Assisting the Son of Heaven and maintaining order in all directions, they established their achievements with diligence; their valor was consistent through time. Thus, the officials in charge and all the people of the state unanimously regarded this place as producing successive chancellors; indeed, all came from this village. In Qin there was one, in Han three, and the Yu family continued through generations. Although their accumulated virtue brought blessings that lasted a lifetime, it was also due to the favor of this ancestral shrine. Therefore, they erected a stele and composed an ode to show future generations.
