| | You Zi said: The use of li (ritual propriety) is to achieve harmony, which is most precious. This was the excellence of the ways of former kings; both small and great matters followed it. However, there are cases where this cannot be applied. To seek harmony merely for its own sake, without regulating it through li, is also not feasible.
