| | Chen Xiang met Mencius. He spoke highly of Xu Xing's words, saying: "A virtuous man tills the land together with the people and eats." Mencius said: "To govern the world, there are tasks for great men and tasks for common people. Some labor with their minds, others labor with their strength. Those who labor with their minds rule over others; those who labor with their strength are ruled by others. Therefore, those who are ruled by others feed others, while those who cannot rule others are fed by others. This is the universal principle of the world."

| | In Yao's time, floods surged wildly and overflowed across the land. Yao alone was worried about this situation, so he appointed Shun to deal with it. Shun sent Yu to dredge the Nine Rivers and to open up the Ru and Han rivers. For eight years, Yu worked outside his home territory, passing by his own gate three times without entering. Even if he had wanted to farm, could he have done so? 。

| | Yao was worried about not having Shun, and Shun was worried about not having Yu and Gao Tao. Giving wealth to others is called kindness; teaching others goodness is called loyalty; finding people for the good of the world is called benevolence. Therefore, giving away the world to someone is easy, but finding suitable people for the benefit of the world is difficult.
