大夏，漢時通焉。在大宛西南二千餘里，媯水南。其俗土著，有城屋，與大宛同俗。去漢萬二千里，居漢西南。本無大君長，城邑往往置小君長。其兵弱，畏戰。善賈市。及大月氏西徙，攻敗之，皆臣畜，共稟漢使者。同受節度。大夏人多，可百餘萬，有市販賈諸物。其東南接身毒國，皆屬大月氏。
